Song Surgeon has a built in F/P module (formant preservation) which fixes this problem.

Formants are the resonant frequencies that define the unique characteristics of a sound, and pitch shifting can distort these, leading to unnatural, "chipmunk" or "munchkin" effects. Formant preservation algorithms adjust these frequencies during pitch shifting to keep the original timbre and character of the sound intact.
